| The
Acura Legend was one of the first cars to use the
Acura nameplate when it was introduced in 1986.
The Legend was Acura's flagship sedan until it was
taken over by the RL. The Acura RL is still sold
as the Acura Legend in Japan. |

| The
Legend was powered by a 2.5 L V6, which was a very
powerful engine at the time. The second generation
Acura Legends were introduced in 1991. The engine
was now topping 200 hp with a SOHC C32. In 1993
the horsepower was bumped to 230, making it one
of the sportiest cars coming from Japan. Many Legend
fans, however, were disappointed that the second
generation models did not include an option for
a VTEC engine offered in the Acura NSX. This engine
was later available in the Acura RL. |
