second generation Acura RL included such improvements
as Xenon headlights. These were added in 1999. Other
options on the second generation Acura RLs include
DVD player and screen, navigation system, and XM
Radio. Since 2004, the RL series has had an all-wheel
drive systme, called Super Handling All Wheel Drive
by Acura. Popular Science called this system one
of the best automotive innovations of 2004. The
225 horsepower C-series V6 engine used in the second
generation RLs was replaced with the 300 horsepower
J-series engine in the new models. The 2005 Acura
RL also features shift paddles on the 5-speed automatic,
which emphasizes sporty driving, even in this luxury
