| From
1976 to 1989 Aston Martin produced a four door luxury
saloon car called the Lagonda. It featured a new
V8 engine, and it was an instant success when hundreds
of people placed deposits soon after production
of the Lagonda was announced. |

| The
Lagonda was the first car in the world to feature
computer management along with a digital instrument
panel. Many cars made today still do not have a
digital instrument panel. There were two variations
on the Aston Martin Lagonda : the Rapide - which
was shorter than the standard Lagonda and had only
2 doors, and the Tickford limousine. Despite the
fact that the Lagonda was a fairly large luxury
car, it still could reach a top speed of 143 mph.
Because of its long production run, it is still
possible to find Lagonda parts, especially online
