| The
R-Type featured a robust 4566cc engine and four-speed
automatic transmission standard. There was also
a manual option, although most buyers of such a
luxury car preferred automatics. The majority of
R-Types sold were the Continental, but enough of
the convertibles were made so that they are not
considered extremely rare (they're not common, either).
The R-Type was really just a modified MKVI for buyers
who wanted to carry more luggage in their car, and
it was replaced in 1956 with the Bentley S-Type. |
