| The
Electra name was dropped in 1963, leaving only the
Electra 225 until 1977. At that time the 225 was
dropped, as it was no longer relevant. The 225 originally
meant that the car was 225 inches long, but by 1977
the length was no where near that. A 1985 redesign
married the GM C body platform to the line. There
was a T-Type performance option on these Electras,
giving some boost during an era when cars tended
to be fairly weak. It is important to note that
the Buick Electra Estate station wagon was a different
platform. The Park Avenue replaced the Electra line
after 1990. The final years of the line had a 3.8
L V6 engine. Many of the older models can still
be found on the used car market. |
