| The
Gran Sport was a performance package option on several
Buick models during the 1960's and 1970's. It started
as an option on the Skylark, offering a 400 cubic
inch engine, the largest allowed by GM. |

| The
Gran Sport got its own model line starting in 1968.
It was the highest performance car Buick had ever
made. The Gran Sport 340 had 260 horsepower but
did not sell well. The Gran Sport 350 and Gran Sport
California used a 350 cubic inch small block and
sold much better. The 350 was popular enough to
stay in production until the line was ended in 1975.
There was also a 231, which was considered the little
Gran Sport. These muscle cars are rarer than most,
but still can be found on the used car market, especially
on eBay, where parts can also be readily found. |
