| The
Lacrosse was introduced to the Buick line in 2005
as a replacement midsize sedan for the Buick Century
and Buick Regal. It is a front engine, front wheel
drive car, and it uses the GM W-Body platform. |

| The
LaCrosse comes with three different trim lines:
the CX, CXL, and CXS. The first two come with the
GM 3800 3.8 L V6 engine standard along with the
GM 4T65-E transmission, while the CXS is the sporty
model with a GM High Feature engine, which is labelled
a HFV6 and is 3.6 L. GM is once again trying to
stress quality and (hopefully) reliability with
the Buick line. The name shows that Buick is trying
to reach the younger generation, which I think is
a poor strategy, but we'll see how it works for
them. In Canada the car is called the Allure, because
lacrosse is slang for an unsavory activity in certain
parts of the country. The car is sparse on the used
car market, as it has only been produced for a short
time, but they are available online, especially
on eBay. |
