| The
Buick LeSabre lasted from 1959 until 2005. It was
a fullsize economy car, usually the least expensive
car in the Buick lineup for most of its run. It
was originally a replacement of the Special, although
it was really just a name change. All Buicks got
name changes for the 1959 model year. |

| For
most of its run, the LeSabre was available as a
4-door sedan, 2-door coupe, and 4-door station wagon.
It was also available as a convertible until 1975.
The platforms used were the front engine, rear wheel
drive B body from 1962 until 1985, the front engine,
front wheel drive H body from 1986 until 1999, and
the front engine, front wheel drive G body from
2000 until 2005. The LeSabre was continually the
best selling fullsized Buick during its run, and
it lasted longer than any of the other Buick nameplates
introduced in 1959, which also included the Electra,
Electra 225, and Invicta. Used LeSabres can be readily
found on the used car market, although older models
from the 1960's are becoming rarer. Use the internet
to find rare models and parts for a lot cheaper
than you can order from any of those specialty catalogs.
