| The
original Buick Roadmaster began production in 1936
and ended in 1958. It was one of the larger cars
built by Buick, and it came in several different
body types, including an Estate Wagon Model 79,
which included wood-paneled sides. |

| The
Roadmaster came with a V8, which was pretty much
standard for that type of car in those days. The
originals cost anywhere from $3,000 to $5,000 during
the 1950's, depending on the specific model, and
they reached top speeds around 100 mph. There was
also a more modern version of the car made during
the 1990's. It was a station wagon using the GM
B-Body with simulated wood panel sides. It started
with a 5.0 L Chevy small block V8, but in 1992 it
got a 5.7 L V8. Although they were discontinued
in 1996, they are still very popular on the custom
car market. You can find both the original and newer
versions on the used car market, but you'll be surprised
how valuable the newer station wagons are compared
to similar vehicles from the early to mid-90's.
Used parts are also available online. |
