| It was
not until a redesign in 2002 that the Escalade set
itself apart from the Denali as a true Cadillac.
It has since become very popular with after market
tuners and customizers. The first generation Escalade
shared an engine with the Denali, a 5.7 L Vortec
5700 V8. People forget that it was not sold in 2000
(the 2001 model year) as it was being redesigned.
When it came back a 5.3 L V8 and rear wheel drive
were standard, but options included a 6.0 L 6000
V8 and all wheel drive. It would also get StabiliTrack
stability control and an option in 2004 for XM satellite
radio and factory 20 inch chrome rims - or dubs.
In 2007 the vehicle will move to the GMT900 platform.
Resale value is great on the Escalade due to its
popularity in the tuner market. Look for rarer versions
such as the ESV and Platinum, which retails for
over $70,000. |
