| The
Cadillac Seville was produced from 1975 until 2004.
It was a midsize luxury car that focused more on
performance than its cousin, the Deville,
which was a top-of-the-line luxury car considered
Cadillac's flagship vehicle. |

| The
first generation had rear wheel drive and was produced
from 1975 until 1979. It was based on the GM K-Body
platform, as were all generations of the Seville.
Starting in 1980, the second generation had front
wheel drive. These cars were known as slantbacks
to the hip-hop culture and were typically optioned
with factory wire rims. The third generation went
from 1986 to 1991. The fourth generation lasted
from 1992 through 1997. The final generation went
from 1998 until 2004. Engines ranged from the 5.7
L LF9 Diesel V8 which made just 105 hp (available
on the second generation Sevilles) to a very powerful
4.6 L L37 Northstar V8 that produced a whopping
300 horsepower. Since production ceased, many of
these used Caddys have been popping up on the used
car market at deep discounts. I would suggest buying
online, and also using eBay for parts. |
