| The
XLR is the first true sports car produced by Cadillac
since the Allante, which ended production in 1993.
The XLR went into production in 2004 using the same
Y-Body platform used on the Chevrolet Corvette. |

| The
base price on the XLR is a steep $76,650, but a
lot comes with that price tag. Some standard features
include heated and cooled leather seats, wood trim
on the interior, 18 inch alloy wheels, side airbags,
DVD, navigation, and keyless entry. The V-Series
version is powered by the 4.6 L Northstar V8 which
produces a whopping 443 horsepower. The engine also
has a supercharger and 4 intercoolers. It also has
a six-speed automatic transmission and brakes larger
than the Corvette's, and 19 inch wheels. Sales have
not been great, and many Americans have never even
seen one except when Super Bowl MVP Deion Branch
was awarded one last year. There are a few used
ones out there, but they are scarce. |
