| The
Blazer, or S-Blazer for the early 1980's models
(there was also a K5 Blazer based on the C/K truck
made in 1969), was in production from 1983 until
2005. |

| A twin
car of the Blazer is the GMC Jimmy, which was produced
alongside the Chevy but rebadged and sometimes optioned
differently. Early models used the 2.8 L V6 engine.
Inline 4 engines, both gas and diesel, along with
a 4300 Vortec V6, were also available. The first
generation came in 2 door form, without a removable
top. They were rear wheel drive with a 4WD option.
After going through several changes in its first
10 years, the SUV won Motor Trend Truck of the Year
in 1995. That year had the most powerful engine
option ever available for the Blazer, a L35 V6 CMFI
producing 191 horsepower, pretty weak by our standards
today. They are available on the used car market,
especially on eBay. Parts can also be found there.
