| The
HHR is technically considered a station wagon, although
it looks very similar to crossover SUVs currently
made. It is made by Chevrolet and it is supposed
to compete with the PT Cruiser, as they both function
like modern versions of the station wagon, but with
retro styling. |

| The
HHR was introduced for the 2006 model year. It is
a 4 door wagon based on the GM Delta platform. It
is front engine and front wheel drive. The design
is inspired by the 1949 Chevy Suburban. Starting
price is $15,990. The LT trim package comes with
an MP3 capable radio and a power drivers seat. Engine
options on the LS and LT are a 2.2 L Ecotec I4 143
horsepower, and on the 2LT a 2.4 L Ecotec I4 with
172 hp. Chevy hopes to sell 60,000 of these each
year, and with a price under $16,000 I would expect
them to do it. Since it is a brand new car, do not
expect to find many on the used car market, although
you can probably find some new ones sold at a discount
of up to $2,000 on eBay, where you'll probably also
find some new custom parts being made just for this
car. |
