| The
S-10 and GMC Sonoma were nearly identical trucks

| The
first few years of these compact trucks saw the
introduction of Insta-trac four wheel drive and
a extended cab model. The engine and suspension
systems were upgraded for 1984. The top engine was
a 4.3 L Vortec 4300 V6 TBI making over 150 horsepower.
The second generation of this truck came in 1994,
and the top end engine was now offered on the SS
model. The CSFI and CMFI versions of this engine
produced over 180 hp. Auto-trac all wheel drive
was an option in the final year of production, 1999.
You can still find plenty of these trucks on the
used market, especially online. You might be able
to find one on eBay if you look right now. eBay
also always has some original parts for the S series
trucks, often in new condition. |
