Tahoe is a full-size SUV that has been sold by Chevrolet
since 1995. It is very similar to the GMC Yukon
and the Chevy Blazer that came before it. It is
a very popular choice for police fleets, especially

| The
Tahoe was basically the continuation of the Yukon
and Blazers introduced in 1992. They shared the
GMT400 platform with the Suburban,
but were shorter than that SUV. A redesign came
in 2000 and the vehicles adopted the GMT800 platform.
The 5.7 L small block engine was replaced with smaller
but more powerful engines, the 4.8 L 4800 Vortec
V8 and 5.3 L Vortec 5300 V8. Some new options included
the StabiliTrak stability control system and XM
Satellite radio. Manual transmission was also dropped.
All model years had both rear wheel drive and 4
wheel drive available. If you are looking to buy
a Tahoe, I suggest buying a used one on eBay, where
you can find them for thousands less than classified
ad prices. You can also find original and cool custom
parts there. |
