| The
Uplander replaces the Chevy Venture in the Chevrolet
minivan lineup. It also technically replaces the
Astro, a minivan that has been produced for 20 years.
It is similar to the Buick Terraza, Saturn Relay,
and Pontiac Montana SV6. |

| The
Uplander went on sale in 2005 at a base price of
$21,250 - although the price can go to $33,795 with
certain trims and options. The engine is a 3.5 L
High Value 3500 LX9 V6 making 200 horsepower. It's
built in Doraville, Georgia, which GM announced
is being closed in 2008. That means that a redesign
is almost certain. Crash tests results for the current
model are better than the Venture. Very few have
made it to the used car market, but you can always
see if there are some for sale on eBay. They are
usually a lot cheaper than classified ads. Parts
can also be found there, although very few of these
newer minivans need repairs already (unless they
were wrecked). |
