Aspen is an SUV that will be launched for the 2007
model year. It is very similar to the Dodge Durango
and Mitsubishi Raider. It will be the first truck
based SUV from the Chrysler line. |

| There
will be two engine options for the Aspen: a 4.7
L V8 and a 5.7 L Hemi V8. The transmission will
be a four speed automatic for the first year, but
if the Hemi engine sells well I would guess they'll
add a manual transmission in future years for the
sporty drivers. The Aspen is a fullsize SUV, not
to be confused with crossover SUVs that look similar,
but are actually much smaller. It will probably
be 2 or 3 years before you start seeing any of these
hit the used car market, and they'll be rare even
then. You might be able to find a new one on eBay
soon after they hit dealerships, as some dealers
have started to move cars using that ever-so-popular
auction site. If you can find them on eBay, expect
them to be $2,000 - $3,000 less than MSRP. Factor
in the cost of picking up the car into your bid. |
