| With
a front engine and rear wheel drive, the Cordoba
was one of the last cars of that era to have that
combination. Not until recent years has rear wheel
drive become popular again with car buyers. These
cars were similar to, but not twins with the following:
Chrysler 300, Dodge Charger, and Dodge Magnum. Obviously,
since it was not built until 1975, the similar Charger
is not the same muscle car Charger we remember,
but the tuned down later 1970's version. The second
generation of the Cordoba started in 1980 with the
switch to the J-body platform. This was a significant
downsize for the car, with a slant six engine replacing
the 360 and 400 cubic inch V8 engine options. The
first generation Doba cars, as they are known among
fans, are quite collectible, particularly early
1975 models with the 4 barrel carburetor. If you
are lucky, you might be able to find one listed
on eBay, and you can usually find some decent parts
there as well. |
