| The
Crossfire is part of a new breed of sports cars
that are resorting back to the tried-and-true rear
wheel drive system. It has just 2 seats, which reduces
weight and allows for the highest of luxuries for
the driver and one passenger. A six speed manual
transmission is the standard, but there is also
an optional 5 speed automatic option available.
In its first year it had a 3.2 L 18 valve SOHC V6
making 215 horsepower. In its second year a roadster
version and SRT-6 supercharged high performance
version were introduced. The SRT-6 engine makes
over 330 hp. Despite all this, the Crossfire has
not sold well. They were even listed on Overstock.com
in an attempt to clear out some of the estimated
270 day inventory they had on hand. If you want
to buy one, you might be able to find one for cheap
if there are any listed on eBay. You'll usually
save $4,000 - $10,000 by buying from there, and
recent improvements in the eBay auction system have
nearly eliminated all fraud in the automobile auctions.
