| The
Town and Country is a minivan that started production
in 1990 and is still being made today. It is
a sister of the Dodge Caravan and Plymouth Voyager,
meaning they share most of the same components
and are only cosmetically different. |

| The
Town and Country is considered the luxury minivan,
putting it above its siblings in sales and in
price. It is currently in its fourth generation.
The first was just around for the 1990 model
year. It was based on the Chrysler S platform
and was almost exactly the same as the Dodge
Caravan. From 1991 to 1995 it was based on the
AS platform and offered an inline 4 cylinder
engine from the K series along with the Mitsubishi
built V6. The third generation was from 1996
until 2000 and was based on the NS platform.
The I4 engine was now out of the Neon. The most
recent generation has been around since 2001,
and it is a 4 door (standard, not optional) and
based on the RS platform. The I4 is still from
the Neon, and the V6 is now a Chrysler built
motor. If you are looking to buy a used one,
you can find them all over the used car market.
I've found it's easiest to use eBay, as you can
sort by year or price, plus they tend to have
the lowest prices. If you can buy it for $500
less than used car market value, it's generally
a good idea to buy a car from eBay and have it
shipped (or pick it up yourself, if you're close
enough). |
