Kalos is a subcompact replacement of the Lanos
made by Korean automaker Daewoo. It can also
be found under the name Chevrolet Lanos and Chevrolet
Aveo, depending on which market you are in. |

| The
Kalos was first sold in 2002 as both a 4 door
sedan and 5 door hatchback. The European market
eventually got a 3 door hatchback. Although the
Daewoo brand name is being disbanded, this car
lives on under its various other names. In Korea,
the car comes with 1.2 L SOHC S-TEC and
1.5 L E-TEC
II engines. In the United States it can be
found with the 1.6 L derivative of the E-TEC
II engine. It will be replaced by the Daewoo
Gentra, which will obviously carry different
names with the various brands it will be used
on. The new car will be based on the GM Gamma
platform. If you are looking to buy a used Kalos,
I suggest you try looking on eBay. Although there
is not always one listed, when you can find one
being sold you'll usually save a lot of money
compared to used car lots, or even private buyers.
Even for a car like the Kalos, which was very
low priced even when new, savings from buying
on eBay can be $1,000 or more. |
