| The
Leganza was produced by Asian automaker Daewoo
from 1997 until 2002. It was a mid-size sedan
that would eventually become the Daewoo Magnus,
which is technically just the second generation
of this car, not a completely new model. |

| The
Leganza was a very inexpensive car, considering
it was made to look and feel like a luxury model
similar to the Mercedes Benz. One major complaint
from many buyers was that parts and repairs were
far too expensive. This was especially true of
the SE models. The CDX actually got very good
reviews from most buyers. Although the Daewoo
name got mocked in the United States, it is seen
as a luxury model in Korea. The Leganza was judged
by most reviewers to be better that anything
Hyundai was selling at the time. Hyundai has
since improved their design and manufacturing
process, and their quality is now considered
quite close to most American brands (Chevy, Ford,
etc). Daewoo was disbanded before they had a
chance to establish a good reputation for quality,
but they were known for low prices. In fact,
many dealerships offered buy one get one free
deals when the brand was disbanded. That's right,
buy one car, get one free. Now that's a deal.
If you are looking to buy a used one, you can
probably find quite a few on the used car market.
Look for models with low mileage (the "free"
one that nobody drove, LOL). Also try looking
on eBay, where prices tend to be considerably
lower than used car lots or even private sellers
who put ads in the classifieds. |
