The Magnum is a rear wheel drive station wagon sold
since the 2005 model year. It was also the name of

The modern Magnum station wagon is built on the Chrysler
LX platform. It is considered the first American
station wagon built since 1996 when Buick discontinued
the Roadmaster Estate. Although it carries its own
nameplate, it's basically a wagon version of the
Chrysler 300. It is sold as the Chrysler 300 Touring
in the European market. Engine options include the
190 horsepower 2.7 L LH V6 all the way up to a 5.7
L Hemi V8 on the RT. The more limited SRT-8 has a
6.1 L Hemi V8 that makes 425 horsepower, making it
a true sports station wagon, or a muscle wagon, if
you prefer that term. The SRT-8 has many other improvements
besides the engine, including 20 inch wheels. It
has won many awards, including "Best New Modern Muscle
Car".
As these cars are fairly new, very few have made
it to the used car market. You'll pay way more than
you should if you buy a used "off-lease" one from
a dealership, even with the various incentives they'll
offer. Your best bet is checking out eBay, where
you can find discounted used and almost new models
at way below dealer prices. You can also find aftermarket
parts there, and you can bet this is the type of
car that's going to have plenty of aftermarket parts
in the near future. |
