With its unibody design, the Ram Van was lighter
than the competition from Ford and Chevy. There were
two generations of this van, from 1979 until 1993
and 1994 until 2003. These B-series vans were very
popular as conversion vans with a fold out bed in
the rear. They could be purchased with just about
every engine Chrysler made for rear wheel drive vehicles,
from a 175 hp V6 all the way up to a 250hp 5.9L V8.
Eventually the van was replaced in 2004 by the Sprinter,
a leaner full size van also used for a variety of
utilitarian purposes. You can find lots of old Ram
Vans on the used car market. If you can't find one
in your area, try looking on eBay, which more and
more car sellers are starting to
use. In my experience, the prices are much cheaper
there and the sellers are actually more honest, because
their feedback rating could affect future sales. |
