The Stealth has a SOHC 12 valve V6 engine for the
base model, with a 24v V6 for the R/T performance
upgrade model. Both models had four wheel drive and
automatically adjusting rear and front spoilers.
The exhaust system was also tuneable and the suspension
was electronically controlled. Many performance features
were phased out in the second generation models sold
for the 1995 model year to keep prices down. In addition
to the two models previously mentioned, there was
also a Stealth R/T Twin Turbo for real performance
nuts.
These cars were fairly expensive when new, but their
values are not yet appreciated on the used car market.
Sellers will often overprice them and then realize
that there is little interest at that price level.
To buy one for blue book or lower, try buying online.
On eBay they typically sell for $8,000 or less, even
in very good condition. For that price, they provide
more bang for the buck than just about any other
modern sports car. |
