With a 5.7L V12 engine, this car can really move.
It also came with two transmission options, a standard
6-speed manual and the popular 6-speed F1 paddleshift
manual. The latter is often referred to as a semi-automatic.
Two limited edition models based off this car were
built in 2005. They were the GTC, a $23,000 package
that included a improved ceramic braking system,
and a Superamerica convertible package. Both packages
could be purchased together, creating one of the
fastest convertibles ever sold to the public with
a top speed of 199 mph. This car has now been replaced
by the 599 GTB. Since it has been discontinued and
has not been around long enough to be considered
a "classic Ferrari," the next 10 years or so will
be the best time to buy one of these cars while
they're still in good condition. You'll get a huge
discount off the original retail price. You can even
find many of these sports cars for sale on sites
like eBay as some owners are forced to sell their
older models so they can buy the new ones.
