The engine options for this generation of the legendary truck series were a flathead V8 or straight 6 in 1953, a Mileage Maker straight 6 or Y-block Power King V8 in 1954 and 1955, and more powerful versions of the Mileage Maker and Power King in 1956.

The interior also got an upgrade over the first generation. Dome lights, a cigarette lighter, arm rests, and sun visors were all added for the first time on these trucks.

You can find these trucks in fully restored condition at car shows all over the country. If you are looking to restore one, you might want to try looking on ebay to see if there are any listings there. Many of these trucks are no longer drivers, so you'll want to find one in your area or make sure you can get a car hauler there without too much trouble. Also, while on eBay, be on the lookout for cheap parts that will make your restoration project go much quicker.
