Ford Festiva Cars & Parts For Sale

The Festiva was a subcompact sold by Ford from 1986 until 1997. It was based on the Mazda DA platform, with a Mazda B series engine. It was sold to the North American market from 1988 until 1993. Not surprisingly, this car was manufactured by Kia in South Korea.

The first generation of this car, which was sold in the United States, was very boxy and competed with the Yugo. The engine was a SOHC making just 56 horsepower.

Amazingly, a special edition of this car was made by Chuck Beck. Called the SHOgun, it featured a rear-mounted Ford V6 SHO engine and could do the quarter mile in about 12 seconds. Only 7 of these were made. Jay Leno owns number 3, the silver one.

The second generation of this car was named the Ford Aspire, and was introduced in 1994.

If you are lucky enough to own a Festiva, you've probably had some reliability issues by now. You can find decent parts for a good price on eBay. You can also find some used Festiva listings on there, but I would not recommend it. Then again, these cars do make for some very interesting science experiments.
