Ford Maverick Grabber
The Maverick was sold by Ford from 1970 until 1979. It's a compact car, but with sporty styling. In many ways it was an attempt by Ford to make up for slimming down their cards due to the gas shortage. It was a mini-muscle car for an era that couldn't handle the real thing.

The original Maverick was a 2 door that sold for a measly $1,995. Not only was the car inexpensive to purchase new, but it was also made to be repaired with ease by anyone without a professional mechanics set of tools. It may have been the last car ever built with that concept in mind.

Some cost saving measures on this car included pop out rear windows, which eliminated the need for a mechanism to roll it up and down. It may not look as pretty, but it got the job done for less cost.

With this bizarre concept of putting the consumer's needs first, the Mav was a huge sales success. Over 500,000 of them sold in the first year alone, rivaling the success of the Mustang during its first year.

You can still find these cars on used car sites, although they are becoming more rare in good condition. It seems that people liked to drive these babies until they were scrapped. For good prices on them, try looking at the listings on eBay.
