The Accord was the first car from a Japanese manufacturer to be made in the United States.
There have been a total of eight generations of this car. They are as follows:
- 1976 - 1981
- 1981 - 1985
- 1985 - 1989
- 1990 - 1993
- 1994 - 1997
- 1998 - 2002
- 2003 - 2007
- 2008 and beyond
Engines have ranged from an I4 to a V6. Like most Hondas, these cars have seen some major modifications by car guys who are in to mods. If this appeals to you, this is a good car to have, as there are already hundreds of custom pieces made specifically for the Accord. With total sales in the millions, there are also plenty of new and used original parts available as well.
These cars are great because they are both fuel efficient and reliable. If you are a young driver you might want to buy a used one to save money, and there are few vehicles that would be a better choice. You'll save money at the pump and in the local car garage, and you won't have to buy another car for quite some time. I suggest looking in your local classifieds for used car listings. There are usually some Accords in any major market newspaper. There are literally dozens of them listed on eBay on any given time, so it might be a good idea to check them out and see if any are in your area. |
