Honda is currently on the third generation of the CR-V. The generations are divided into the following years:
- 1997 - 2001
- 2002 - 2006
- 2007 -
The only engine option on all generation models is the I4, although there are different sizes and variation on those engines. A turbodiesel I4 was first sold on second generation models. Transmission options have ranged from a 4 speed automatic to a 6 speed manual available on new models.
The trim designations on these cars go LX, EX, and SE when ordered by price from cheapest to most expensive.
Like most Hondas, the CR-V continues to maintain a high resale value. That said, you can find some great deals out there on the used car market. Check your local classified listings, or check eBay to see what they have listed on there. If you go to a local Honda dealership, they might carry some used CR-Vs, but you'll pay several thousand dollars more than buying one from a private sale in most cases. There is one good reason for buying at a dealership: they have great warranties on their certified used vehicles. |
