Hummer H3
The Hummer H3 is the smallest of the consumer model Hummers. It is also the lowest priced, competing with the likes of the Jeep Grand Cherokee. First sold in 2005, it's an all wheel drive vehicle built on the same platform as the Chevrolet Colorado and GMC Canyon.

The 20 valve DOHC engine makes 242 horsepower, which is not particularly powerful considering the vehicles size. Transmissions come as either a 5 speed manual or 4 speed automatic.

Fuel mileage is not great on this SUV. It gets about 16 miles per gallon in the city and 19 on the highway, which is a little below average for its class. Since when have Hummer drivers worried about fuel economy? They probably will in the next couple of years, as a fill up will routinely cost them near three figures.

Some alternative variations of the H3 include the H3x, which is a trim upgrade, and the H3t, a concept vehicle with a pickup truck bed. The H3 Alpha is a more powerful model with a V8 engine (as opposed to the standard inline 5 cylinder engine). It will go on sale next year.

These vehicles are fairly new, so don't expect to find many on the used market. Try using eBay, where many dealers will sell their off-lease stock. You can also find all your favorite custom mod parts on their, including some pretty ridiculous wheels.
