The MXT is smaller than the other trucks in the XT (Extreme Truck) lineup. The others are the CXT and the RXT. It is still a bigger truck than the Hummer H2, and a military version is even in production, so you know it's made for heavy duty use.
The engine in this truck is a 300 horsepower 365 diesel V8 paired with an Allison transmission.
The towing capacity is ONLY 16,000 pounds, which still means you can tow Sally Struthers in a parade if you get the inclination. The payload capacity of the chassis is 4,000 pounds, so don't let her sit up front. With a gross vehicle rating of 14,000 pounds, this is one massive truck. You might qualify for a tax write-off, which shows you how out-of-whack our country is when it comes to lowering fuel consumption. At least it's diesel and not gasoline.
These trucks are new. You won't be finding too many for sale other than from a licensed International dealer. You might see one or two pop up on eBay, if you are willing to wait a few months in between each auction. Retail price is $65,000 to $80,000, depending on options.
