The Axiom name came as the result of a naming contest. Frankly, I think all cars should be named this way. I'm sick of cars being named things like the "Focus." What the heck does that even mean?
The original engine for this SUV was a 230 horsepower V6. For the final year, horsepower was boosted to 250. It came with a 4 speed automatic transmission. No stick shift was ever made for this vehicle.
This vehicle was retired with the Isuzu Rodeo. They were the only two remaining Japanese built Isuzu consumer models. Now all Isuzus sold in the United States are rebadged GM vehicles, including the GMC Canyon and GMC Envoy.
These Axioms are only a few years old, but you still might be able to find them on the used market. Check Craigslist for any that might be for sale in your area, or use eBay to find some really great deals.
