With a 4.0L V8 engine, these cars were made for performance as much as luxury. Jaguar must have decided they did not want their customers to have too much fun, however, as they speed limited these cars to 155 mph, which is lower than the top speed on the car these replaced.
The 18 wheels that come standard on the XK8 are nice, but not nearly as nice as the optional 19 or 20 inch alloys. Other options include the navigation system (standard on the XKR) and Adaptive Cruise Control. Leather interior and walnut trim are standard on both models.
Both the first generation Mark 1, sold until 2006, and the new Mark II are sold with automatic transmission only. The Mark I is a 5 speed, while the Mark 2 is a 6 speed.
The new XP Coupe will be based off the ALC Coupe Concept shown at the 2005 North American International Auto Show. It is designed by the same man who designed the Aston Martin DB7, and it shows.
These cars are still rather rare on the used car market. You might be able to find some luxury car dealers with used cars in the back of the lot. You're probably better off just staying home, making yourself some microwave popcorn, and searching eBay listings for a good deal.
