The Comanche was the first Jeep truck to use Quadra Coil suspension. It had coil springs with control arms in the front. Leaf springs were used in the rear.
There were 6 different drivetrains sold with the Comanche. The automatic options were 3 and 4 speeds, with 4 and 5 speeds available in manual transmission.
The trim lines on this truck were the Base, Chief, Laredo, SporTruck, Eliminator, and Pioneer. The Base was also referred to as the SE.
This truck was phased out in favor of other DaimlerChrysler trucks like the Dodge Dakota. The Comanche was the last Jeep truck, and it is highly sought after today because it had a very durable drivetrain.
If you are going to buy one of these trucks, make sure to inspect for rust. These trucks, and all old Jeep in general, tend to have rust problems. Even with rust, a cheap one bought off eBay would make a great truck for someone who is rough on transmissions. Do you best trying to break it, I think you'll be impressed.
