1972 Jeep Commando C104
The Commando was produced from 1966 until 1972. For the first 5 years, it was called the Jeepster Commando before being renamed the Jeep Commando in 1971. These were four wheel drive vehicles that reminded people of the Willy's Jeepster days and the various military vehicles.

The body styles on these vehicles included the station wagon, convertible, pickup truck, and roadster.

Engines on the early models were the I4 making 75 horsepower and the V6 making 160 horsepower, quite a difference.

The later model engines ranged from a I6 to a V8, made by AMC. Over 20,000 of the V8 C104 models were sold.

These Jeepsters and Commandos are very popular with classic Jeep collectors, and there are many of them. Car clubs are not just for the muscle car collector anymore. Enthusiasts now collect and maintain these old Jeeps religiously.

You can find these on the used market, although they are becoming less common than they used to be. Try looking on eBay, where you can usually find a listing or two.
