There was a 4x4 pickup version of this truck that won the Baja 1000 desert race, the Parker 400, SCORE Offroad Championships, and the Mint 400 (this was the same race featured in Hunter S. Thompson's epic novel "Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas").
A Honcho Sportside was made in 1980, 1981, and 1982. Only 1,264 were made in those years.
These trucks came as either rear wheel drive or four wheel drive. They were all fullsize and had 2 doors.
These trucks are not very common, but they are too useful to be considered collectibles by most people. Jeep lovers will always respect a classic Jeep truck. You can sometimes find one of these trucks listed on eBay, and there are always parts floating around.
