There were only 492 Stratos produced for the consumer market, meaning there are very few Stratos' out there today. Each of these cars had a mid-engine, rear wheel drive layout.
The engine in these consumer models was a 2418 cc V6. The only reason these consumer models were even built was because 400 production models were required for Group 4 rally racing.
The non-race version of this car had an engine much weaker than the racing version. The regular consumer was stuck with a 280 horsepower car, while the racers got double that with the help of a turbocharger. These turbocharged versions were less reliable and competed in Group 5.
This car is playable in video games such as Project Gotham Racing, Gran Turismo 4, and Colin McRae Rally.
These cars are exceptionally rare. The chances of finding one on the collector car market are slim, but they are out there if you've got the money and the time to find it.
