The engine used in this car was a powerful V8 with four overhead cams. It was derived from the engine used in the 450S.
The first version of this car had disc brakes in the front and drum brakes in the rear. Later models had all disc brakes.
There were several bodies used on this car, all made by famous car designers. They include the Pietro Frua, Carrozzeria Monterosa, Pininfarina, Ghia, Michelotti, and Bertone. Those were the rarer models, most of them one-off customs. The most common body, with 22 manufactured in all, was designed by Carrozzeria Allemano. Allemano also made at least one known convertible.
Prices on this car started at $17,000. Needless to say, they could not be bought for that price today. With each one basically custom-made for the individual buyer, no two are exactly alike. If you can find one, take a picture of it. You'll have proof that you saw something very few car enthusiasts will ever see in person.
