The Bora had a V8 engine that made over 300 horsepower. With a top speed of 165 miles per hour, this was a true supercar for its time. There was no automatic transmission on this car, it was a 5 speed manual or nothing.
The design of this car can be credited to Giorgetto Giugiaro as a part of Ital Design. With fabricated steel panels, leather interior, electric windows, and air conditioning, this was a true luxury car in addition to its sporty attributes.
DeTomaso bought out Maserati in 1975, and sales struggled after that point. The Bora had a twin known as the Merak, which had the same body but a smaller V6 engine.
These cars are quite rare and very valuable. You might be able to find one if you can find a Maserati dealer who deals in the classics. You'll also see them turn up at some classic car auctions and exotic car auctions. You'll also find them listed on eBay once in awhile.
