This car featured a 4.9 liter V8 engine also used in several other Maseratis of the time. It was paired with a choice of a 5 speed manual or 3 speed automatic transmission. Unlike some other Italian sports cars, it had the engine in the front and rear wheel drive. It also had DIRAVI power steering and a special glass window below the rear window for increased rear visibility, usually a liability in these types of cars. With an engine that could make 320 horsepower, this car was popular with sports car fans, but too expensive to sell very well.
In all, just 430 of these cars were produced. If you are looking to buy one, good luck. You might be able to find a Maserati dealer who deals with the older cars as well, or you can try going to classic car and exotic car auctions. You actually might find one listed on eBay if you check regularly.
