The Quattroporte V comes with the same 4.2 liter V8 engine that comes with the Coupe and Spyder and the upcoming GranTurismo, but this one is tuned to 400 horsepower. Despite a hefty curb weight, this car will go 0 to 60 in 5.2 seconds.
There are three trim levels of this car. There is the base model, but also the Sport GT, which has an improved transmission, bigger wheels, and an improved interior, and the Executive GT, which has an Alcantara suede leather interior and chrome accents all around.
There are two transmission options for this car. The Duo Select is a "semi automatic" transmission with shift control. The Automatica is the full time automatic transmission. It is a 6 speed. Paddle shifters are standard with the Sport GT and options on the other two trims.
These cars are rarer than their competition, with only about 5,000 made each year compared to over 100,000 Jaguar XF's. You can find them on the used market, but only if you have an exotic car dealer near you. A better suggestion would be to check eBay if you are interested in buying one for less than the retail new price. |
