There have been 2 automatic transmissions paired with those engines and one manual. The automatics were 4 and 5 speed and the manual is a 5 speed.

In the United States there are two trim levels of the Mazda3. They are the i and the s, and the major difference is the engine. The i gets a 2.0 liter engine, while the s gets a 2.3 liter engine.

Performance numbers for these cars is not very impressive, but there is a sportier version released as the Mazda3 MPS or the Mazdaspeed3 in the United States.
