The R31 Skyline was sold from 1985 to 1992. It was sold as a sedan, coupe, station wagon, and hardtop. The engines ranged from a small 1.8 liter I4 up to a more robust 3.0 liter I6.
The Nissan Skyline R32 was sold from 1989 to 1994. Some models of note are the GXi Type-X, GTS, and GT-R. The GT-R was the top performance model with a twin turbo I6 engine.
The R33 came in many similar trims. The GT-R was back, but this time with even more options. A rear wheel drive GT-R LM was sold for the first time, along with a 400R performance model.
Performance was the goal of the R34. Nearly every trim line saw some improvements in performance. The GT-R now came in V-Spec and NISMO Z-Tune editions.
The 11th and 12th generation Skylines are aimed more at the luxury market than the sports market. The GT-R was temporarily discontinued in favor of more luxury options on the base models. The V6 engine is bigger than past engines, but it no longer comes with twin turbos.
There are not too many Skylines being sold on the used car market unless you know where to look. You can get some great deals if you want to buy a used Skyline if you look on eBay. There are also lots of Skyline parts listed on there.
