The 9000 was sold as a 5 door hatchback and 4 door sedan. The engine was an I4 making 160 horsepower on the turbocharged model, a decent number for a car of this size. The base model without the turbo made about 130 horsepower.
The second generation 9000 started in 1992. There were many different engines sold with this car, from a 130 horsepower I4 all the way up to a 225 hp turbocharged I4. There was even a 210 horsepower V6 engine sold with some of these cars.
An anniversary edition of the 9000 was sold in 1997. It had special wheels, an Aero body kit, and special leather seats that had the retro Saab logo from when the company only made airplanes.
There are still plenty of used Saab 9000's out there on the used car market. You'll find them just about anywhere, but the best prices that I find are usually on eBay, where you can get all models and even some special editions for a lot less than on other sites and at dealers. They also have some parts on there.
