The only engine sold with the Outlook so far is a V6. It's paired with a 6 speed automatic transmission. No manual has been made available so far, and it's unclear if one ever will be.
There are two different trims for the Outlook. The base trim is the XE, while the upscale trim is the XR. The V6 engine in the XR gets 5 more horsepower, and the vehicle also features a dual exhaust.
Three row standard is the only option with the Outlook so far. The third row is a bench seat made for 3 passengers, while the second row can either be a bench or captain chairs for two.
Front and side crash test ratings on the Outlook were excellent, but the vehicle was not chosen as a top safety pick by the IIHS because of poor performance from the headrests during a rear end collision. In coming years, expect to see the headrest positions altered so the Outlook will have a better chance of getting that top safety rating.
These Saturn Outlooks are too new to be showing up on the used car market in any great numbers. Some dealers might be selling off old stock on eBay, where you can get some great deals. In the next few years, expect to see some of the first Outlooks making the used car market on eBay.
