The first generation S-Series was sold from 1991 until 1996. It was sold in three body styles: 2 door coupe, 4 door sedan, and 4 door station wagon. The only engine option was an I4, and the transmission was either a 4 speed automatic or 5 speed manual.
The names of these cars can get a bit confusing. The SL1 and SL2 were the sedan level cars, the SC and SC2 were the sports coupes, while the SW was the sports wagon.
The second generation saw the introduction of the 3 door sports coupe in 1999. The third door was a suicide door on the driver's side. This may have been the first such door on a coupe in the United States.
The 1995 Saturn SL features a flaw that may have contributed to it being the most stolen car in the country for that year. The ignition could be started with a screwdriver, making it an easy grab for any thief who couldn't find a set of keys lying around.
The S-Series cars from Saturn can be found all over the used car market. They seem to be everywhere. If you can't find one in your area, try checking on eBay. They have some great deals. You might also try selling your S-Series on eBay, as you won't have to give it up to some shady dealer for much less than it's worth.
