The first generation Grand Vitara was sold from 1999 until 2005. There were three body types of this car: 3 door wagon, 3 door convertible, and 5 door SUV. The base engine was a I4, but there were also two V6 engine sold with the Grand Vitara and even a turbocharged diesel engine in some markets.
The second generation Grand Vitara has been sold since 2006. The 3 door convertible has been discontinued, while the other two body types remain. The engine options are more powerful but are basically the same as with the previous generation. The newer Grand Vitara used a lot of the same components as those used on the General Motors Theta platform. That said, the Grand Vitara should not be considered a Theta vehicle.
The Grand Vitara has been modified to race in the Pikes Peak Hill Climb. That racing model features two V6 engines, each of them turbocharged. Total horsepower is nearly 1,000.
There are several websites that are good places to look for a used Suzuki Grand Vitara. The first I'd go to is eBay, which generally has at least a dozen or so listings for this vehicle. There is also Craigslist, which makes it easier to search your local area.
